Well the other day I won a nice MS grade 1943-P DDO Nickel!! I can't wait to get good up-close shots of this one for the site. I know ya'll are more than likley getting tired of me not getting the site up better...I have a whole stack of photo and info to go on as soon as I can get time. My other job that normally has maybe 1-2 jobs a month has around 7 right now and it has really put me on the rush. The good part about this coin is that the CP's guide lists the value at around $250 in MS63. I know that is high, but I only paid around $18!!! Speedy
Well Frank, I really didn't think I would win it. I was going to be on and off of the computer all day and since I didn't know if I would be on at that time I put my bid in around 9hr's before it went off. The coin is graded by SEGS so that might have played a role in why no one wanted it. There was one other bidder and he only went to $12. With shipping it was right under $18!! I was happy to say the least! When I can "Cherrypick" a variety like this one it always opens up some more of my money to buy another nice one!! Speedy

Well Nickelman....I'm pretty sure. Let me put it that way. I knew that there was a chance that it was just one of the common ones but from what I've seen and what I'm reading I think this one is it. Actually I hadn't seen that one on Teletrade although I do have a raw example, I can make out the date to be 1980 if that adds any value! I do mostly look for varieties but like examples of various mint errors as well. I was also watching that coin!!! LOL!! I almost bid but I decided to hold off on it and try to get some other varieties. Also I decided to hold off buying it because I had already bought the coin in this thread for low money and I don't like to have too many coins coming at once. I know that the chances of the coin I won being the rare one is slim but I think I have the chance.... Speedy
I did not see that coin. My hobbie is coin collection. I visited every country to know about their coins and picked some coins from there.
Well I got the coin! The bad news is that it wasn't the Double Eye variety....but the good news is that it was a variety that I didn't have and needed. I believe it is CONECA # DDO-007! So I'm happy and can't wait to see what one I'll find next! Speedy
