I love my Roman and hammered English coins but I have recently become interested in medieval Italian coins including Papal issues. I found a Papal coin reference in a used book store for very cheap money and it's a very interesting read and a decent reference. I love my reference books and don't mind paying for them as long as it's not crazy expensive. Any suggestions for a general reference book for medieval Italian? Thanks for any suggestions.
Even if you don't speak Italian, and these are rather old i still find these very usefull sometimes: http://incuso.altervista.org/cni.php
I, second, Anthony's recommendation. It is a must if you want to collect Medieval Italian coins and its free...
That looks like it will be very helpful. My softwares translator seems to have done a decent job with it and made it very usable. Thank you for the suggestion.
I guess it can't translate the PDF files but they are in Latin anyway. Just like the very familiar Roman coins. This is great. Thanks again.
