Coin or Medal

The item is still in its raw condition. Apparently a coin, but it has some kind of a bar or vertical knob on the lower edge that you can handle like a mirror. I can clearly identify the suckling she-wolf with Romulus and Remus on reverse where I can read ROMA. The obverse shows a Roman Emperor. It weighs 15.5 g. Is it a coin? a medal? or what? Thanks..

Could be remnants from casting the blanks for coin production they have channels similar to what is seen here. Weird that they would still strike it tho, or not remove that section
