Todays lighting experiment

    for photographing coins.
    It's snowing like crazy here just outside Philly.
    What's an old retired guy to do. Well I saw this button light in my cabinet and this holder for my Dino-Lite. Hmmmm let's see what happens.:wideyed::wacky::eek:

    White inserts such as in NGC slabs are a REAL pain when taking pictures.
    Light reflected from the insert can easily overpower the light coming from the coin.
    Then the coin looks washed out.

    I take a square of dark gray/black non-reflective paper, cut a hole a bit larger than the coin in the slab and use the paper to mask out the reflection from the insert.
    It makes picture taking easier.

    @kanga My slab is also wrapped in what I call, a slab condomo_O

    @Gilbert I use a Canon SX20is, the "P" setting + macro. I like this camera because it uses "AA" battery's and thaks good photos and videos.
