This is SS gift, Thank You! It's a very lustrous and perty coin.
On the flip it said "dot"
I am assuming that it is the dot below the bust?
Anyways, the error is at 12 o'clock rev. rim. IMG_0002_1.JPG IMG_0001_1.JPG IMG_0003.JPG Here are a few different perspectives. IMG_0002_3.JPG IMG_0001_3.JPG
The beading on the rim in the area are very sporadic.

I am assuming your coin is Medallic Alignment
The issue you see is on both sides.. right?
It could be Finning. Folded over from circulation. IMHO

There are many areas on the rim that look like what you posted above. The area in question is raised above, and much larger, The rim area seems to have a small crack on the third edge from about 11-30 to 1, also the missing beads on the third side? There is also another spot at about 7 oclock that has a disruption in the detail as well (third side).

The coin has an L reverse. Bottom reverse.

I've seen this kind of irregularity on a lot of these, though I couldn't tell you what caused it.

I had also wondered if this was normal to the series. This is my first Half Rupee, Thanks Guys. It still puzzles me.

It may be a "half" rupee, but it's a "whole" nice!!!
