I'm looking into buying a type 1 Buffalo for my dansco and I found a fine-ish Buffalo. It has a lot of circulation contact marks but the coin seems to be very strongly struck. I would like some help with pricing this coin. PM me if you would like to help! Thanks
Here are 3 I'm looking at. 15-20 dollars each. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/332502359093 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/122886997181 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/122887983137
I don’t know if it helps, or skews your expectations, but this was $20 at a local dealer. Could be they could have asked more. But this particular issue can be had in decent grades because many were set aside.
I agree with Kanga. I think the 1913's were pretty well struck. And don't limit yourself to ebay - look at some dealers inventory. If nothing else to get a feel for the strike and the prices in the various grades.
Take a look at PCGS's retail price guide. For $20 you should be able to get a problem free XF-AU coin. 1913 Type 1 is typically very well struck with lots of detail, although strikes on worn dies are out there as well.
