An informative article on the Roman monetary system.

I was wondering how the Ancient Roman monetary system worked. Particularly what the "face value" of their coins were. In my research I found this article with exactly what I was looking for.

..i'm inclined to believe that it is.. while the term "face value" has defining meaning, there's no information on whence it came
