I think people can be critical of them if they want to. Makes me not want to buy their products anymore. This is a free market sure, but I really think of it as a sell out on their part. All that tacky slab/label is missing is Mike Mezak’s signature in autopen.
I think this year it comes with a red oak presentation cabinet. It has 33 shelves, one for every red oak presentation box holding the 33 Silver Eagles (1986-2018).I think they ship a shelf every month so you'll complete it in 3 years. I then heard they'll sell a red steel presentation safe with a see through thick glass door.
It’s certainly your right to avoid them if you want, I shy away from them for different reasons at this point. That said in this case It’s nothing they wouldn’t do for any other submitter and they shouldn’t be in the business of banning people from submitting just because. It wouldn’t matter anyway they’d just buy it on the secondary market and then charge even more because middle man profit is now built in
You’re defending them like one of your pups, and I don’t understand why. We’re just voicing our opinions on the matter. I would add that it’s not a relationship like “any other submitter” as I don’t believe that they’d give just anyone a “sample slab” for advance sales, especially one that has a 2018 label and a 2017 coin encapsulated within it.
Because some of the things being said are completely off base. Integrity should have never been brought up in anyway and far far to much misinformation about the TPGs gets put on internet in threads. Yes they would give a sample slab to a large enough submitter if requested they it, the only difference is the other submitters don't need it. They can create them digitally like they do for their web-pages and don't need an in hand tv prop. Their HSN relationship is no different than any other large bulk submitter they have
I wonder if there was a deal between them to obtain a certain number of MS70 graded labels. I’ll bet we can find flaws visible to the naked eye in a lot these so called “perfect” coins.
Ok.. Here's a good question.. What would you guys rather own. The 2018 Flag NGC Slab.... OR this guy?
is he a Silver dollar Specialist??? I've seen the show and he usually asks for help with coins. as an aside, his shop is the "world famous gold and silver pawn shop" and I always chuckle at names like these. If it is truly world famous, you shouldn't have to say that it is. Conversely, if you have to tell me that it's world famous, it's not.
