It feels like forever since I last purchased a Peace Dollar for my collection. I think I’ve got a sickness. . . I can’t stop looking for upgrades! :banghead:

Very nice upgrade and as mentioned by Bellman - particularly so from San Francisco.

Thanks folks! I agree, this is a particularly nice coin for the SF Mint.

@scopru: I assume you’re a Marine given your avatar. Thank you for your service!

No longer wearing the uniform, but will always be a Marine. Thanks. And again great looking coin!

These are the seller’s pictures. . . I don’t have the coin in-hand yet. The wait is killing me! ;)

Now you're killing me. My 1924-S is a "crudbucket".

IMHO, there’s no such thing as a “crud bucket” Peace Dollar. But I’m open to a picture that could prove me wrong! ;)

Very nice coin. I love Peace Dollars, completed my set two years ago when I got the 28.

That is a really good looking coin. Conservatively graded. They could have gone 65. It is extremely high in grade for a 64.

Thank you, I thought the same. I’m giving some thought to resubmitting it. What do you and all the grading experts think. . . Is it worth the attempt, even if only for a plus+?

Well, yes. It goes up 6 times in value as a 65, if it makes the upgrade. Do a minimum grade as a 64+ submission. All you have to lose is the fee. The 65 is a $6,000 coin, and the 64+ is a $2000 coin. The NGC jump is even bigger. I am actually surprised it did not gold bean, given its eye appeal.

What would be interesting would be an NGC submission, as a 64+, and having it come back as a 64+*.

It looks to be a very nice MS64, but I don’t think there’s much chance of getting into a 65 holder. 64+ maybe.

Could not disagree more. That coin has the look of a 65, or at the very least, 64+. The only reason it did not get the bump is the huge jump in value. PCGS blew it on that one. NGC would have straight graded it as a 65 , as it has great surfaces, and no significant distractions.

I would guess it WAS resubmitted, did not upgrade and was sent to CAC - which agreed with 64, hence the bean.
