Don't have type scales needed. Had for many years. Thoughts? 20171231_143237.jpg 20171231_143250.jpg

    You can't compare a 1979 with a 1990... 1990 is a Copper Plated Zinc Cent

The 1979 does look weird.. probably plated at one point then it wore away

I just picked another. 1979 copper looks the same. Coin not worn.

So, where's the 78 D from the title?

My Son was very proud when he gave me that cent set. It’s one of my favorite sets. (The set is the 61 and the 69). Some coins can be both worthless and priceless at the same time!

ALL 1979 cents are made of brass. 95% copper, 5% zinc That is a brass alloy.
