I don't have any but I always thought Chinese Cash coins were cool. So many varieties.

I know I started this by stating mine were AV Dukats, which is definately my most prolific "collector coin". But......I also have been stashing away our Canadian $2 coins called "Toonies". I have a large crock pot filled with over 5K of them. Soon....I will roll them up and take them to my bank, use the $$$$$ to buy a FDC Philip III of Macedon AV Stater:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) So, I am getting a really nice coin for "pocket change" I've hoarded for 5 years!

1808 JAVA VOC 1 d obv.JPG 1808 JAVA VOC 1 d rev.JPG I started collecting Dutch colonial copper, such as duits, half duits, double duits, stuivers, etc. I see I have over 200 of them in the "keeper" part of my collection, and 50 or so extras to trade or sell. Have a few "dumps" but as yet no "bonks". I know that might not sound right, however it probably is.

    Probably Mercury dimes.

Surprised to hear me say that?

Well, you see, I'm including my metal detecting "keepers" album.

(But not the Wheat penny jar. Certainly I have more Wheaties than anything else, dug and otherwise.)

I would say GB sovereigns and crowns by a long shot.....never counted them and also imperial Russian roubles.

US never made a single penny, and I guess my saying went over your head.

Agreed. It would not be cost effective to make a single penny. Heck, it is not even cost effective to make a billion a year.

BTW, if you are not familiar with the term penny then I suggest you look it up on Wikepedia.

Ducats I like..........wish I could afford them. Heck, if I collected them, I'd make room to afford them. Truth is, I'm US (and mostly modern at that) but I do enjoy looking at Ducats............:)

If I had Warren Buffett's $ I would go for that Poland 1621 Sigismund III AV 100 Dukaten/Triton XXI! Then, go on the sixbid site and high bid on every perfect mint state Dukat ever made/ then all the Roman Aurei.....probably would run of of $ in 10 years! But it would be heavenly:)! Unfortunately, that is in a dream world/ reality is much harsher, I can only afford two good coins in all those great January Auctions:( And I have no luck in lotteries:(

I started hoarding large world coppers and US large cents. now I'm collecting crowns. I have 21 5 francs, so I guess those are the dominant coins. I'm trying to get one of each mint from 1831 to 1850. that's a lot of coins if you research how many mints there were/are

When I was still collecting I set out to be the first to assemble a date set of Netherlands gold ducats. Given the number of years they had been minted, they started in 1586 and continued until today, I knew it would be a monumental task. Nonetheless I was determined to try it. I got about halfway there before I finally quit collecting in 2006.

You have two of the giant Sicilian 68.32 grams of silver 30 Tari coins. Rare and expensive coins.

I wish they were Sicillian :( Mine are both from Malta. Btw i recently lost on a double scudi from Genova on Heritage which is about 76g , very depressing to think about it.
