There are plenty of small dates. The problem is You Tube videos and the 17 billion 1982 cents that were minted. These mistaken threads are not going away. If they were to just look at these photos (thank you Kasia) it would be EASY for even a novice to see the difference.
But but but but but I thought I was gonna be rich!?! How can it be that my coin is not the 1 in a billion coin that I saw on the yootoobs?! You're wrong. I know what I saw. I'm rich! You'll see.
@Donna Cammon - If you have questions about your coins, it would be helpful if you started a new thread for each. Though, in regards to the 2 coins you posted (71D and 69S) I see nothing besides normal circulation marks and damage.
That one's been well-preserved, @Donna Cammon. I personally pull three types of Lincolns from circulation when I come across them: 1. Older Lincolns in great shape (like the 71-D above). Yeah, not worth much. I only save them in the event I can talk one of my grandkids into getting serious about collecting (two have dipped a toe in). The box of "golden" (mint luster) oldies could keep them busy for a few days. 2. Wheaties. 3. Pre-82s and 82s. Just got a gram scale and will soon sort through the 1982s I've saved. Yes, yes, I know it's a fool's errand, Chris (@cpm9ball), but I've been doing it for so many years I don't care to stop. Someone will take them off my hands at some point, and the hope for a big return will be entertained by a new, most likely younger, fool. Steve
