"A bit more" isn't so bad as I was expecting worse. Thanks for the input!

I love any coin that depicts a scene from the Torah. I didn't know these were in your wheelhouse. Cool chunk o' silver.

I haven't purchased a mint or proof set in a long time. In fact I have been selling off all but the Silver and a few special sets. I got this one because it has a lot of the coins I need to complete a type set I am working on for Ireland. I am currently searching for a 1928 mint set that I can buy for less than $200. If anyone knows of one, let me know. I've already found the 1998.

Thanks for the input! I did "buy the book" on GB Coin Values and I am doing some more research on eBay, auction history, etc. and agree with your range of prices foe six pence coins. I could have done better on the Vic but like you say "I'm not looking back".

    Thanks again!

As a tip to anyone in the US buying British coins on Ebay, try logging into ebay.co.uk instead of ebay.com. Your usual ID should work, but you will see many more British coins. (We have to pay extra here to have our coins visible on Ebay.com, so most don't bother.) Bear in mind you will have to pay international postage.
Generally the prices will be much lower - certainly for "run of the mill" Victorian coinage.
I'm guessing the same will apply to other non-US Ebay sites, though language may be an issue. Ticking the "Worldwide" option on your Ebay search does NOT have the same result!

My last purchase of 2017. Hard to believe I didn't have this already but somehow it escaped me until now. 1961 rwanda burundi 1 franc.jpg

A nifty Iron 5 Ore piece from the German occupation. Considerable die cracks to boot! IMG_20180102_130723.jpg IMG_20180102_130710.jpg
