I am looking for a reference that I see often with scale weights, but have not found a copy: Bendall, Simon. Byzantine Weights: An Introduction. London (1996) A group of weights listed in one of the NYINC auctions gives the book as a reference. I think the book had a short run and was not republished. I have seen it in a few libraries and old auctions, but not in a current auction. Charles Davis sold one on V-Coins, but had only one. This week I saw downloads offered by two web sites (one is http://rtfuoso.ru/tewominyhava.pdf). They offer a free month, but require a credit card to make the first download. I have downloaded several books, but this one looked a bit off color. The cover was different than the one above, odd for a one run book. I am glad I did not send a card #. Review sites called these guys (and a few others who offer book and movie downloads) scammers.
