Hi Coin community. I recently found this 1984 P quarter without a mintmark. Its also missing the "I" in the word "in" and the "T" from "Trust". I know a lot of coins have a weak strike or a greased die error like this but not having the mintmark isn't something common. Can somebody give me an estimated value on this quarter? Thanks!

Looks well circulated.. Wear and tear.. Probably got worn away
    IMHO worth 25 Cents

I appreciate your opinion. It is well circulated but I don't think it would only wear the mintmark off. The ribbon on the head is normal and not worn. The rim isn't wore. so my guess is more of a grease filled die. Just really didn't know if it would have any value.

I feel like I can see remnants of a mint mark. Just wear and tear has caused this. Keep in mind the coin is 33 years old. The average life span of a coin is around 30 years.

There was a 1989 P Washington (with no mint mark/or worn away/ or error???) in similar condition that sold on ebay for 2.99 this month......

There are a lot of coins on ebay that should not be there... Damaged coins being sold as errors when they are not. Not a good source to research.

while I have some help I have another coin id like to get your opinion on. I found a 1984 Quarter that has the spitting eagle die break error. I found some info online that says the 84 spitting eagle was going to be a registered error but I cant find any value on it! Any ideas?

It's not listed in the Cherrypicker's guide. And CONECA shows nothing for the 1984 Washington. If it has not been published as a recognized error there is no way of having any kind of reference information to stand on to provide feedback. Sorry. CONECA (Combined Organizations of Numismatic Error Collectors of America) may be a good information source for you if you are not familiar with the organization. Not on this coin, but maybe on the next one!!

I don't think it's a crack. I believe it is a die clash. There is a well known 1983 spitting eagle that is very similar. It is recognized as a clashed die. Cool coin!!!
