This was a Christmas present from My Mom.
IMG_0001.JPG IMG_0002.JPG The grade on the slab, is the only grade that gets the point.
If you want to make this interesting guess the grade on the slab, and the grade you would assign to it.

I would have been amazed if my mom was able to pick out a nice Morgan like that for me. I'm fairly confident it's graded MS-65 by ANACS.

64 at least, but I'm gonna say 65.

    '81-S Morgans do come nice.

That one's no exception. Nice gift!

Well even though, my Mom has good taste, this was bought with a gift certificate to my favorite B&M coin shop. Just the same, As @jtlee321 said, this is in an old anacs soap bar slab. The dealer gave it to me for grey sheet. double the Christmas present.

That's a beautiful coin. Agree with others old ANACS 65. I could easily see it in a 66 holder if those ticks on the cheek are as minimal in hand as they look in picture

I'll guess 64 on the holder on a great coin that looks to be a lock at 65 today. Love the subtle toning.

I'll go with MS-65, and I think a lot of collectors would pay a little extra for the nice eye appeal and toning.

MS64. Some cheek scratches and not super strong breast feathers.

I think the old slab says 64
Even at 65 i believe the set of eyes on this coin had a very particular set of skills.

    I WILL find you.......
    & I will grade you

Sidenote : way 2 go mom

I am with @Lunchbox John, MS64 on the holder, but it sure looks like it could make MS65+ today... your Mom is great!

    MS 65 on the holder

To me it has the look of an MS 65+/MS 66

Very nice coin and a great gift!

I really dig how coins present in those old ANACS slabs with the focus on the coin itself.
