I bid $25 for the '35, if it's got free shipping.

Its not after the fact though dont you understand? The auction is not over. Why is this hitting such a nerve for you? I know people love to get steals but i do not want it to happen to me.

So the star is irrelevant or no?

You don't understand. Where on god's green earth do you think the person that will give more for that note is right now. Do you think he has been asleep ever since you listed it, and will mysteriously wake up after the auction is over?

The auction has already started. IMO if you put something up for auction you are accepting that whatever the market will pay is what you will get....unless you put a reserve. Which it seems like you didn't.

To me, it seems as though you think you have something worth a whole lot more than $25 (which several people already have said it isn't) and you are considering stopping the auction because you aren't getting what you think you deserve. You did no research before putting the item up for bid. You just thought you'd make more money than what it's worth.

You should have taken the time to figure out what your item was worth before putting up so that you had realistic expectations.

Let me flip this on you, What if someone bid $50 and won the auction but then decided that it wasn't worth that and decided not to pay. You'd be pissed right? IMO the same thing applies to the seller. If someone puts something up for sale I expect that they follow through with their end of the deal. Plain and simple.

I tell you why it hits a nerve with me. People buy coins and currency in an ebay auction and automatically think that they have something worth way more then relist it in another auction. When it doesn't bring as much as they think it's worth, they pull the auction or better yet, they never mail it, even though they claim they did. They take people's money, and they have to wait a month or longer to get it back and that doesn't sit very well with me.

It is only obvious to you that it is your listing. You could also have been a buyer asking the same question. Getting snippy with people you don't know but are asking for help is not a smart way to elicit that help.

Well then next time someone asks for help, leave out the unnecessary and sarcastic comments. Seems to be a mainstay in forums today and it really turns people off.

    YES!
Whose fault would that be? not the bidder.

If you don't catch the mistake in time to revise your price, you must honor the winning bid, OR risk your integrity and honor, not to mention your reputation as a seller. And if I were the person you reneged on, I would buy the cheapest item I had in your inventory, to find out who you are only to Post your real name on one of the internet's many ACCOUNTABILITY SITES as a seller who lacks integrity, honor, and has a clear disregard for rules.

I might not actually go that far, but I'd never do business with you again. (My post was meant to express my extreme sentiment for such an abhorrent deed; Not a willingness to be malevolent.)

There are umpteen sellers on eBay just like you. They don't know what they are doing, either! No one has taken advantage of you. What you should have done is ask questions before you jumped the gun. I can't blame anyone who would write you off for good.

If you don't want it to happen to you, then get the heck off eBay!

Where did I make an unnecessary or sarcastic comment? This was my first post on this thread. Your captain obvious remark was the first sarcastic comment. You only have yourself and your attitude to blame for what followed.

In my opinion, take the $25 for the note. It's by no means rare, and has little eye appeal based off of the picture. If I were in the market for a low serial 2013 $1 FRN, I'd want a gem.

That's what I want to know.. I found the bill in question on ebay and I posted it. I didn't even know it belonged to the OP until he mentioned it afterward. All I wanted was for the other members to see more info. I guess he didn't want anyone to know it was his .. Oh well

@John9000 I would recommend a little research on ebay sold listings prior to putting up a sale. That will give you a rough idea of what you may get.
You came across (once you indicated the note was your listing) as a seller that wasn't happy so was going to pull a listing because you thought you were getting low balled. That does strike a lot of nerves in buyers. Again refer to my first sentence - research - as a seller and a buyer it pays off.
So first impressions do go both ways and my impression of you isn't exactly what I would call positive based on this thread.
