Hi all, A Special Mint Set, often referred to as an SMS, is a set of coins issued by the U.S. Mint from 1965 to 1967. These coins are characterized by a better than average strike, since they were struck on higher-tonnage coin presses than circulation strike coins, but they were not struck as Proofs. SMS coins do not have any mint marks. Mint Errors on SMS coins such as these Struck Through errors occurred and I have 2 of them - #1 - Struck Through Issue right before the word IN of IGWT #2 - Struck Through Issue on the word STATES Do you have any SMS Mint Errors?... Post Them (and only SMS )
Yes. You have a damaged quarter! Not a Mint Error! Sorry.. but I stated this thread is ONLY for SMS Mint Errors..
Well I would like to share this with you. 1965 sms dime clashed die and, partial missing clad layer. Enjoy!!! definitely the most extreme die clash I own. Possibly the most extreme in the series.
