I hate asking questions on here, I always feel like I should do my own research and answer my question myself. This coin I can’t find any info on so I figured I should finally ask the experts. I know the difference between a MD coin and a DD, but this one has stumped me. The words E Pluribus Unum look doubled. The only thing I have found online that is similar to my coin was on a YouTube video (here’s the link: ) my coin looks similar to the one in the video, but the letters look more smudged and not as crisp. I know it’s for sure not post mint damage, the coin is in very good condition. What do you all think? Thanks everyone
for starts, that u-tube guy knows nothing, everything he is showing is MD and those "cuds" on the obverse are actually linear plating blisters....
Yeah haha I’ve seen some of his videos and they’re garbage. I watch jbcoins because I think he knows more than almost everyone on YouTube. I just posted this guys video because it’s the only thing I’ve found that is similar to mine. So you think it’s just machine doubling?
Don't worry about stupid questions. It's the stupid answers that can kill you. By the way, if you don't start flattening the points on your staples, you're liable to scratch another coin. Your best bet would be to buy a flat-cinch stapler. They don't cost that much and they use they same staples. Chris
