I received the coins from my surprising auction win (https://www.cointalk.com/threads/surprising-vauction-win.307472/)

Mostly what I'd expected: mostly low-to-medium grade LRBs, but with some nice coins, too. Certainly not worth what I ended up bidding, but that's my own fault for trying to increase my original bid and work and being careless.

One kinda neat surprise, though, is a bronze AE19 (5.2g) of Philip II, I think:

It looks like a bust of Herakles surrounded by a (just barely visible) border of dots on the obverse. The reverse is the typical horse and rider with Philip-poy above. I've never seen this combination before. A lot of Philip III bronzes have Herakles on the obverse, but they don't have the reverse inscription. Instead, they usually have something like PI - BA. I've been scouring the internet and found two other examples, both much smaller than mine:

Anyone ever seen one of these before? Any idea where they were minted?

Here is one of my Philip II AE's... purdy similar to yours, except I have a spear-head control mark below the horsey. It may had been a commemoration of the 20 foot Sarrissa that Philip invented when he completely redeveloped his Army's Phalanx.

So you're saying it's really Apollo on the obverse, not Herakles? It's possible that I am mistaken.

I've understood it as Apollo on the Philip II and Herackles on Kassandros (mine above is Kassandros) can't find pic of my Philip on this device anyway.

it's Apollo and the reverse is Phillip's horse that won the race at the Olympics..
