Alright. I am blind. Lol. I did miss some. And now that I have posted my post though, it seems like there had been a surge in the number of Franklins received. Lol

Thanks Secret Santa! Opened mine on Xmas, and am very pleased with the gifts. Included were a nice variety of cents, a buffalo and V nickel and a silver proof quarter. Here are my 3 favorites from the batch...
    3.1936 Wheatie
    20171226_010104.jpg 20171226_010138.jpg
Very nice 81 year old wheat. It is now my nicest condition pre-40s wheat cent, and will look nice n shiny in my LWC folder!

    2.1964 proof quarter

This one's a beauty, and is my first PCGS graded coin. A nice addition to the ever growing collection.

    1.1955 proof cent

This little guy has got to be my favorite of the bunch, I couldn't quite capture the look of it with the photos, but it is gorgeous in hand! I've always been entranced by a lustrous Wheatie, and this being my first proof LWC, I'm practically drooling over it!

Thanks again to my SS, and a happy New Year to all!

Thank you to my secret Santa for my coins below! These classic coins come on the heels of my next chapter of numismatic collecting - a stark shift away from moderns to focus more on classics where I'd actually end up selling many if not most of my moderns, but that's for a different topic.

Anyway, my SS either knew or coincidentally gifted me an 1888 year coin - I like that year for some odd reason lol (the clashed die must be the beads shown on the obverse above the bust methinks!).

But by far my favorite is this 1938-D Buffalo nickel! It came at just the right time, too, because I was just about to submit a bunch of coins to NGC. This one will get added to that submission - nice toning, too!

My secret Santa gave me three books and a 1964 Kennedy. I'll look into it and see if I can notice anything special about the Kennedy by using the books. I looked for a note in the box and the books but couldn't find anything so hopefully I didn't throw one away! Thank you for the gift SS in Arizona.

Sorry for the delay in posting these images. My Secret Santa totally rocked my Christmas. I was so excited to see what came from way up north. LOL

The package was fairly small around the size of a small flat rate USPS Priority Mail Box. I felt bad for my SS since the shipping itself was over the recommended value of the gifts we gave.

Here's what I received in my mail box.
    IMG_6186.jpg

Here is what was inside the package, a couple of nicely wrapped gifts a card and a $1,000,000,000.00 Canadian Chocolate Bar. I guess hyper inflation is kicking in up there Canada. :)
    IMG_6189.jpg

I opened the card first and inside was a very nice note.
    IMG_6190.jpg IMG_6191.jpg

So I asked the family which gift to open first. It was unanimous, open the small present. This is what was inside. A nice plush clamshell box. :)
    IMG_6192.jpg

    I wonder what's inside!!!
    IMG_6193.jpg

Yes!! Two Large Cents dated 1876. One from Newfoundland and the other from Canada! Exactly what I had hoped for when I saw that the package had arrived from Canada. I just love those old Large Cents. :) These Large Cents have a bit of personal importance to me. My great grandfather immigrated from England back in the early 1900's. He arrived in Canada where he spent several years before moving down here to the US. He collected several Canadian and English coins when he was younger and passed them down to my grandmother who still has them. I enjoy hearing her stories of her father and the coins he collected. She is the person who got me into coin collecting.

Here's the Newfoundland. It has some really neat doubling going on with the E's of ONE CENT.
    1876-New-Foundland-Cent.jpg

The Canadian Cent is just as beautiful as the Newfoundland Cent. Oh how I wish these coins could tell their tales....
    1876-Canadian-Cent.jpg

Next came the larger present. I was elated to see that it was a 1975 Canadian Mint Set!! My birth year!! I have been a bit jaded with the US Mint and the set they produced for my birth year. The only coins they struck dated 1975 were the Cent, Nickel and Dime. The Quarter, Half and Dollar are all the Bi-Centennial stuff, which is great for my brother since he was born in 1976. So now I have a complete Mint Set dated 1975 from Cent to Dollar. :)

Thank you so much Secret Santa!! I am elated by the gifts you bestowed upon me. You really made my Christmas. :) I hope your Christmas was as wonderful as well.

Santa arrived while I was sleeping last night (believe that is the rule, yes?).

He brought with him a big beautiful silver 1944 Mexican Peso (my first silver peso!), a cool little Great Britain silver Three Pence from 1940 & a copper 1943 Newfoundland Small Cent (wide date I believe) - love the pitcher plant on these, always thought it was interesting that the floral emblem of Newfoundland was a carnivorous plant.

Just heading out the door but wanted to post some quick pics & say Thank You Secret Santa, great additions to my world collection!
