I'm pretty sure it says E. PLURIBUS. UNUM, then I see a P by itself a d some numbers I can't quite make out except I thing there are at least 2 zero's. That's why I think it's the date. Don't know why the P is there And it has stars. Can't wait to get my microscope my eyes are not what they used to be c
I don't know if you're trying to pull a fast one or what, but that edge doesn't look like it is the same coin that you originally posted. The patina is completely different, and I've searched tens of thousands of Sac dollars to know that the patina would not change from one surface to another. Granted, the coin was improperly cleaned, but there is no evidence of cleaning on the edge. The edge you're showing is not that of a 2000 Sac. Chris
I just took another look at the image of the edge with the "P" (Philly mintmark) and I think I see a "10" preceding it. I think you are showing us a 2010P Sac. How about rotating your first image so we can see the digits next to the "P"? I'll wait about 45 minutes, and then I'm going to leave this thread and not return. Chris
Coin community is our rival forum.. stay away from there.. they know nothing! We are the true Mint Errors and Variety specialists!
Hey Chris I'm not sure what you mean and I'm not going to take offense at it, but one thing I won't do is play a game when it comes to coin collecting and getting your advice on here, its not my style. I'm straight up, plus I'm the one who looks the fool hoping I have something other than a clin that is worthless. Paddymsn made me realize that . besides I already gave to my sister to get some gum when she went to the store 30 minutes ago. I used the editing on the camera to see it better and changed the color of it a little so it would show up better, but that is all I have done bro. I did'nt think you the ght of me like that and I'm sorry you do. I have been you up to my wife about how helpful you have been. Anyway like I said I enjoy looking into them even if they are worthless. You never know, maybe one of these days I'll suprise everyone with a nice find. Thanks for your input. CDuane
That's really wrong of you to feel that way I wish I wouldn't have taken paddymsn advice , not because he was wrong but because I would have loved to do as you ask I thought I had it all down, maybe not and again, I am sorry you feel as you do.
You have to understand that many of us, here, have listened to all sorts of claims. So, listening to your claim (about the edge lettering) hasn't been much different. I'm not suggesting that you're doing anything other than possibly confusing some of us. Believe me when I say that we've had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting all sorts of wackos on these forums, and I really don't think you're one of them. Chris
Thank you for saying so. And no I'm not. I love searching and trying my best to find what I'm searching for. I bought 3 coins today that were supposed to be errors. I paid 5 apiece for them. I figured , OK 15 dollars, maybe I'll have one out of three. No big loss. You have to take chances to get ahead. I ended up with a pack of spearment. S Gatorade and a Gatorade.Oh and 37 cents in change. I'll never play games like that. But I swore I heard somewhere that if the 2000 P had edge lettering that it was worth money. Oh well, there's always another coin. STAY REAL. Dusne
Perhaps it was just someone thinking wishfully. I wish that I could win the Powerball, myself. Of course, it could have just been someone who had a tendency to make a mess of their sentence structures and grouped "missing tail feathers" (engraved tail feathers) with edge lettering when they were talking about two entirely different years. However, I do remember well the first year that edge lettering was introduced on the small dollars. I ordered a $250 bag of Washington Prez dollars from the Mint because I learned that there were some missing the edge lettering that were selling for a nice premium. Well, I only found one that was missing partial edge lettering. Who would have thought that 5 years later, I'd sell it for $228 in a 99c (opening bid) auction. Chris
That's great man, only I. Sick now. Someone sent me a link on the the edge lettering. And I had it in my hands and its worth a very nice premium I can't believe I spent it like an idiot. I'm truly sisk. Now I have a coin I want you to see. This may make up for it. You tell me.
I posted this earlier and was told it was nothing. At the time I .mentioned his back being doubled and I started to put it in my junk jsr but looked at it one more time. Look at his back then look at his face and front of his jacket. I know I'm not crazy. This is s legit doubled die. I need to see if its been registered yet.
Your photo is small, but it looks like machine doubling to me. I think I read that other thread, and if I recall, someone gave you a link to the Wexler site that discussed "Worthless Doubling". I'll get a link for you, and if you haven't read it, you should.......very thoroughly! Chris Here it is....... http://doubleddie.com/144801.html
