Agreed, and glad to see 2017 over. Hoping we all have a blessed 2018. This is my 2nd year participating in both of the U.S and Ancients forums exchanges. This year funner than last which only means it gets better every year. Thanks Kirk for running this forums Secret Santa again, and thanks again to my SS.
Secret Santa was very kind to me and 'right on' when it comes to dropping a bomb on what I love, enjoy, laugh at, and imbibe. Stay tuned for part two........
Thanks again Steve in Plano TX.........I know who are, but I don't know who you are, but that don't matter none..........you are a terrific Secret Santa and you've made this old sod very happy. God Bless and a Merry Christmas to you and everyone here on CT.
A special shout out to Nathan (@Nathan401 ) for sending me this elegant piece (and trying to convert me to the 'dark side'). It wasn't a Secret Santa, but I wanted to put it here nonetheless because it was a Holiday gift from a dear friend. Thanks Nate, and Happy Holidays.
Nice job @Nathan401 , very generous and if anybody needs to be converted to the dark side it’s @green18.
Can't tell for sure, but the date on the steel cent looks extra thick like it could be a doubled die.
Finally got the gift opened. Big shoutout to my SS, great gifts. First off, Kennedy series, a First Release mint set, and a Presidential coin and medal set. Next, a 2016 Presidential coin set. A 2015 State Park quarter set. And finally, a 16x loupe, which I have to say is at the top of my list as I did not have one currently. Thank you to my SS, all the gifts were wonderful. I have always the loved the modern coins, but have not wanted to spend the money on them. They will be a fine addition to my modern collection. Totally random observation, unless I missed it big time, there has been no Franklin half dollars given or received. Interesting as they are a more modern issue that is fairly available.
Thanks!! I'll take this moment to thank @John Anthony for helping me find an ancient to send. For anyone reading this that doesn't know, he is a great resource for buying good ancient coins. I'll give a strong recommendation to check out some of his sales.
I'll second that comment. I've bought 2 or 3 dozen JAZ gems over the last couple of years. Great dealer and friend.
Thank you very much Santa. The pup and I love our gifts. The treat only lasted about 3 minutes, though.
