Gamla (stan) is referenced as the "Town Between Bridges" and is the original old town of Stockholm until 1980. I assume this commemorates this as a medal. But I have no catalogs for pricing these.
The 1897 date suggests something different. Well, not really different - Gamla Stan (Old Town) does indeed refer to the historic "heart" of Stockholm. But Gamla Stockholm was a miniature city, built for the World Expo in that year. The first article is about that mini-old-town but in Swedish, so you may want to try Google Translate or so. The second one, in English, is about the expo in general. https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamla_Stockholm_(kulisstad) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Art_and_Industrial_Exposition_of_Stockholm Christian

Thanks for the info folks. I've been to Stockholm and Gamma Stan but didn't know about the Expo. Merry Christmas!
