1942 Walking Liberty

    Hello! I know it's been a while since my last post. After organizing my grandparents' coin collection, my "numismatic activities" have been reduced to looking through change and being disappointed. Might try bank rolls.

    Anyways, I was wondering what would be the grade + value of this coin. It's a 1942 Walking Liberty (no mint mark).

    I see evidence of a cracked die running through "United" and e pluribus... And maybe top of branch between e and r if liberty. Could be an error coin.

    It’s monitory worth is about six bucks at today’s silver price, but a whole lot more in sentimental value.

    @HTF3Fisher72USN I did not spot that. I'm no error coin maestro, so let's get some other opinions. What do you think @paddyman98?

    That second picture makes it look more like a scratch than a die crack, IMHO.

    Yeah, there seem to be a lot of scratches on the coin in general. I'll take @Kirkuleez and @Yankee42 answer of melt.

    Looks like a scratch to me.. Especially inside the letter D
