I recently came across this 1988 Lincoln that I'd like to get some opinions on. Is this an Error ? The Rim is thick left all the way to the top. 1988 8.jpg 1988 5.jpg 1988 8.jpg 1988 5.jpg 198801.jpg 198802.jpg 198803.jpg

A typical poor strike from Philly with a lot of die polishing going on to try and save the die from retirement. Not an error.

Slightly misaligned die. And as for the initials it is normal for this year.

there is a few 1988 out there with 89 reverse, yours is not one of them. you can tell by the FG initials.

    It's barely a mis-aligned die,
and I wouldn't call it that in fact.

    Don't forgot, coins are struck
in huge quantities, and in any
    manufacturing process, there
    will be minor 'anomalies'.

These are not errors, just minor
    striking differences.
