Saw this ad by Danbury Mint. All the Morgans are preserved in circulated condition, it says. But to preserve a coin in circulated condition, one would have to continue to let them circulate, no? Spreading a lil' holiday cheer.

no... to preserve it in circulated condition you would have to stop it from circulating and maintain it in its existing or current condition....

I agree. But therein lies the quandary. If one does NOTHING - i.e. DO NOT stop it from circulating - then the coin IS still in circulated condition.

$10 each for Morgans? What am I missing?

No, I think it's 79.95 + 4.95 S+H = about $85 each. But that's for all their efforts to preserve them in circulated condition.

Hey guys I got it. It’s the Eagle desk holder they mount the slabs in it must spin thus keeping the coins circulating around on your desk? DA2B8808-17AD-45E8-8D46-C603D0770DF4.jpeg

It's the kinda junk that reminds me of that woman in Napoleon Dynamite that tells her husband, "I WANT that!"

After busting out coins from Lucite blocks and toilet seats I learned that about half of the silver "coins" were not coins. They were very nice aluminum foil imprints of coins. I never bought any of those. During the big silver boom a friend hired me to bust some of them up for the coins to be melted. He had a lot of them that came into his pawn shop and could not be sold. 100% of the copper "coins" were real coins. It was the obsolete silver coins that were fake. Didn't see any with gold so have no data on those.

Hope the seats were clean. Good to know. Now I can’t get the picture of you smashing coin toilet seats with a hammer out of my head. THANKS. Lol

From the fine print above the green "Add to Cart" box, it's $79.95 + $4.95 S+H for each coin.

But you can still buy just one set. Then contact Harvey (the toilet seat bursting guy) to see if he'll give you those aluminum foil imprints. Next, put those in slabs and voila - there you go!

    I’m not talking to you.

If it was up to me I’d have the moderator take away your Avatar for being so mean. But that won’t work will it? (wink wink) Oooo id love some of those foil imprints you think he has any?

Make your own. Shiny side out gets MS and Proof grading. What amazed me is that they did so well with the reeding. I also had a part time job making fake gold nuggets out of brass bearings when I was a teenager. I've always been willing to shovel manure if it keeps me off welfare and it always has. Drew unemployment ONCE during a scheduled plant shutdown so that they could retool for an entire new product line and they didn't want us all to evaporate into new jobs. Retired now so my process worked well for me.
