    I used to spend them in the 60`s on holiday in communist Bulgaria.

    Nothing much to buy at the time but what you could buy was cheap.

    It was a good holiday until my Dad got detained for taking a photograph of a Soviet battleship coming into port.:D

    The 1 stotinka bears a strong resemblance to USSR coins of the same era.
