http://mandelaeffect.com/ The story behind it is, apparently a lot of people thought that Nelson Mandela died in prison (he did not die in prison). But these people would swear that they saw news reports or read papers that said that Mandela died. This weird thing, where people seem to remember clearly things that never happened, became known as the Mandela Effect. Classic example: "Luke, I am your father" was never said, but many people remember hearing it that way. (It's actually "no, I am your father").
Geeze, can we get a SPOILER alert here? Oh, wait, you didn't say which Luke. Or father. So never mind.
I'm not a fan of circulating commemoratives, so I wish they'd just return to the original Washington quarter design. But if the mint must soldier on with more commems, I'd like to offer up these possibilities culled from my daily Thrillist and Travel & Leisure feeds: "The best craft beer in every state" "The best pizza in every state" "The best farm-to-table restaurant in every state" I think any of those would make a fine series.
deiviant's in government series, 50 favorite targets The WWII years Etc. 50 worst cities, That'll get the blood flowing
Three Dog Night can promote the program picking up with: "Threeeee can be more fun than two but we better stop there or the mods will get mad..."
I hope there is no more quarter programs for awhile. If they absolutely have to continue on making something they should either make a new dollar series or a half dollar program as I think Kennedy's been on the half long enough.
Don't think so, unless the 1999 NJ quarter counts. The theme will indeed be what @cladking wrote, see here. "Upon the completion of the coin program (...), the reverse of the quarter dollar shall contain an image of General Washington crossing the Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton." Nice idea by the way. Leutze painted that while he lived and worked in Düsseldorf. And some people argue that the Delaware River near Trenton suspiciously resembles the Rhine River around here. Apart from the fact that it would not be doable (by law), would 50 look-alike quarters be that appealing? Christian
