2017 has been a good year and I've purchased my fair share of Morgans. Here's my top 5 of 2017. Remember, this is just my opinion. I'm not solely basing this value, mintage etc. 1.1892 O MS 63. This coin was formerly an NGC MS 64. 2. 1903 O MS 64. 3. 1890 CC MS 60 A really interesting coin and grade. 4. 1891 S MS 64 I've put this one off for years. 5. Tie. Sorry I couldn't decide? 2 circulated great years. 1895 O 30 and 1893 P AU 53.
I like the 92 also ,great color and detail. This 1885 has great detail, what do you think it would grade?
I usually do not like grading coins by pictures. Although, if it hasn't been cleaned it would probably grade pretty well. Nice full strike.
No I haven't cleaned it and it does have exceptional detail you can see all the little flowers the feathers in the hair the name it's all great it's got a little coloration because of age but other than that there's no ware to it.
May have been well before you owned that coin, but I think it has been wiped off/cleaned. Look at the dark areas still around the letters, stars and as well as in the nooks and crannies, yet the fields are "clean". When wiping off the gunk on a coin those areas would tend to retain the gunk. That is my opinion. I do like it none the less. Is a nice looking '85.
Yes I thought the very same thing but I was told it wasn't and I wasn't going to argue with the guy that I got it from but yes it does look like it has been cleaned at one time and thank you for your reply and you got some nice looking Morgan's
I am a Morgan and barber man I think Morgan are the probably the best-looking coin out there and has been for many many years they stand for a lot and will always stand above all the rest
