In light of recent discussions I'd like to ask a relatively pertinent question. Of course you only need to answer if you care to. How old were you when you began buying and selling coins on Ebay. Take Care Ben
I was 14 had a Philadelphia Bulletin paper route made about 12 bucks a week and would for the next 3 years every Saturday go to a coin shop who had a coin bid auction that you would write in your member # and bid. But the guy who owns Delaware Valley Rare Coin Co., Inc. Broomall PA (his ad is most time on the back cover of coin world) would come in 10 mins before the end of bidding and out bid us little kids. At that time his shop was in a mall type place and was called Bazaar of all nation coin shop.
I've never really sold anything on ebay. I've won things off ebay since 2001. But I'll also say this---even today when I'm bidding on something either my dad or mom know about it and most of the time they are in the room when I place my bid. I'll just say something like---hey...check out this auction....I think I'm going to bid....normally they want to check it out and make sure they take my type of payment and that they have good feedback (Stuff I've already checked out ) As a side note---I've taken out all of the Ebay user ID's---Posting those is getting really close to Self Promotion and I would like to keep that out of this thread. I know that some of ya'll don't sell and therefor it wouldn't be Self-promotion...but I would rather we didn't tempt each others to break the rules--So please---if you want to post your user ID...do so in the OPEN forum. Speedy
I started selling items on Ebay in 2003. Mostly "garage sale" type items but a few modern foreign coin sets. I have stopped selling because I have run out of items to sell.
I've been a member of Ebay since 2002, I was 37, but I have rarely sold anything. I did sell a group of Mercury Dimes a while back and a leather belt just a few weeks ago. I buy alot of coins, coin books and coin albums. I dont even want to think about how much money I've spent on Ebay in just the past year.
Hey how's that work? Both Cody's and Bonedigger's ebay user ID's are "EDITED". :mouth: I started buying and selling on ebay when I was 13. My user ID just so happens to be "EDITED" too.
Never sold a coin on ebay but have sold books and trading cards, have had some odd reactions from Americans when they realise that I am British and selling them Baseball or Hockey cards LOL
Well isn't that something.....if I told you mine it would also be EDITED. Anyone else that might want to post theirs might as well tell the truth and just go ahead and put EDITED Speedy
Started buying 8 months ago at age 45. Got to tempted buy looking at the site and they made it to easy. I dont sell
A few months ago I actually started to get involved with eBay, but I started collecting a few years before that.
