Circulated Buffalo Nickel set complete

started collecting coins back in the 70's with my dad, life interrupted, collected on an off for next 20 years or so then back into it heavy after retiring due to being disabled. (plenty of free time now). wanted to finish my circulated set of buff nickels and proud to say its done! of the 64 coins i purchased about 24 of them, the rest were found roll searching or in pocket change. i may upgrade some of them and i may start expanding with varieties, we'll see, but for now, i'm happy..... enjoy the pics..

As you said, upgrading is always a possibility. So, the set may be complete, but the hunt can continue.
One of the great aspects of coin collecting imho, even when you've reached the finish line, you can still keep going.

 

Very nice set! I like how well matched they all in terms of grade and color. Very attractive.

It's also really cool that you were able to find as many as you did.

I made a similar set back in the '50's and also had to purchase many of them. Your set is very nice and well balanced.

Crack the slabs, "fill" the holes, and frame the set on the wall.

 

I understand that those 2 are the key dates, but having them in slabs while the rest of the set was in that nice album would drive me crazy!

I agree - crack them, save the inserts (tape them in the back of the folder), and enjoy that set the way it was intended!

lol, yea i've had those two slabs for a while and at least twice i was holding them an thinkin i should crack em, but at the time i just couldn't bring myself to do it....
gotta ponder on it some more....

Conundrums like these are why we have the 'poll' option here at CT (hint hint)

 

I see no reason not to crack them and save the labels. Worst case scenario it costs you a little to get them reslabbed when it’s time to sell. But on an economy submission it’d be $50 or less
