Yes it is a Christmas gift, but I had to order it for her. Ed Waddell will be sending this by FedEx so I get it before Christmas. Here it is, an Abafil 4 briefcase with four Blue velvet deluxe trays. I cannot wait to load this up with my collection.
I like yours better than mine... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9MSRAM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then again, I am not bringing my collection anywhere. Just for sorting my world coins by countries. Great Gift!
You will certainly enjoy it very much. I use Abafil cases only for my collection and have always appreciated them Q
That is very nice...im considering one as well! I think my parthian and greek silver would look nice atop the blue velvet.
I enjoyed my cased coin period but never had Abfil since my level coins hardly justified $3+ per coin for housing. Abfil or cheap knock offs still encounter the same problem when you collection grows to so many coins that you need more cases than you can carry. For a collection under ~500 coins or so, I can think of no better way short of a custom furniture grade cabinet. I know you will enjoy the gift.
I use the Diplomat 7, but have many extra trays. I think when I bought mine they were about $95, they are now $465. Glad I already have them! There is nothing finer than Abafil to my mind. The trays do fit in most large safe deposit boxes.
Thank you Doug. I am looking forward to it. After it arrives it will sit under the tree until Christmas day. Then I will spend a few hours arranging my coins in the trays. I hope you and yours have a great Christmas.
I love my Abafil cases. I was on Ed's site yesterday looking at them (and again this afternoon) I very much like the blue. I wish the mini-diplomats came in blue also...but they don't. That is a very, very nice present.
Thanks Ken. I have always admired them since beginning the collecting journey. I have a small 12 place version I bought last year that I have very much enjoyed. The workmanship is top notch.
They also come up used on occasion. I have seen a few on Ebay that went about 10% of new. But on the other side of the spectrum I have seen them used go in major auctions for about twice what they cost new!
Thanks. I was attracted to the blue as well. I think the blue will be nice with both my gold coins and my silver coins. The choices for the blue trays were limited to either the 40 place or 24 place version. I went for 4 trays of the 24 place version because my coin tickets will fit.
