TypeCoin971793 Just a random guy on the internet

I was at a show once, and I started talking to a dealer about this. He then showed me an 1892 O Morgan graded MS-65 by PCI, one of their orange holders that have no good reputation. I looked at the coin, and it was a SOLID problem-free MS-64. The dealer said he bought it from another dealer who charged $80 simply because of the holder.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

And this is why I encourage everyone to learn to grade. You can find good coins in bad holders. But, you have to know how to grade for yourself. If you find a solid 64 92O in a third-world holder, absolutely buy it for $80! Don't rely on the plastic.

Buy the coin, not the holder!

I’ve busted some good coins out of bad holders. Had blue anacs 3c was ms 62comeback pcgs 64 had a yellow gold $1 go from au 53 to pcgs 58. Has others no grade too. Have a trade I paid a fortune for in an old white was accurately graded at pf 64 comeback as questionable color 4 times and I paid 4 grand for it. The tpgs and their color bs on coins that are naturally toned is a never ending source of frustration for me.

I’ve got a nice 1921 peace in a ngc 63 holder that was in an old green pci that I paid fifty cents on the dollar no pun intended

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

I think you should have proudly intended the pun.
