OK - these have been posted in the Exonumia thread under Coin Chat, but maybe they will see a different audience here:

Hi @lordmarcovan! No. I did not get any more of these. I have one king over here. I am sure I can not manage to handle another! This coin you sent stays on my night table next to a couple of bobbleheads who are princes. They guard the king! (Gee, I’ve gotta get out more).

Indeed. I Googled up some group lot pictures of them, and they're quite beautiful, with all their colors, particularly when photographed against a black background.

Aside from having seen a few pictured in the past, I have zero knowledge of them. Doesn't surprise me a bit to have read in my recent searches that there are lots of counterfeit and fantasy issues in these.

I found the image below on someone's Pinterest page.

I've never had any of these, nor do I see how any could possibly ever fit into my collection, but they're delightful nonetheless.

With all that "king" and "prince" business, you might get a chuckle out of the name of my previous place of employment. :p

I have a number of them, but I have also read that there are many modern and contemporary fakes. I suspect most of mine are questionable. For anyone that may be interested there is a book available on the net for further info...

Neat. Since that's a 1911 book, I figured it might be in the public domain.

    Found a PDF here.

I spent many years playing the part of the "dashing commuter" on the Long Island Rail Road. My memories of driving past the Unisphere go far back as I can remember to the days when the family would travel to "The City" on The Long Island Expressway to visit my grandmother.

I suspect some of these might be Chinese Chess playing pieces. I picked up this set at a market here in the UK the other day - no one else knew what it was:

(Forgive me if some of the pieces are not in the right place - I am still trying to work it out!)

I also found the plates with the book images "colorized" somewhere on the net.

Hmm, I could fill pages of this, especially if I'd get off my duff and start doing more photography. The medals are more difficult to get around to as many of them exceed my photo set-up's maximal dimensions. My cell phone can do serviceable work, but I know my phone will get upgraded in the next year and the next generation of phone camera is better, so it's hard to force myself to do the shots.

Here's a few I can't remember posting before, or at least not recently or often.

I had a somewhat similar piece, but not silver, nor 7oz! (wow)

As the text in that old picture indicated, my carrying that medal as a pocket piece during my detector outing indeed gave me good luck... I found another medal!
