I bought this last week and I’m new to ancients, could someone let me know if I did ok or not. VF condition. The nice strike, looks ultra high relief no kidding. Thank y’all for helping me out. By the way I used eBay sold coins to try to figure its worth but there were none that I could find that was this fine with the toning.
    I paid $50 at LCS. 5EA03705-CE2F-4700-8D52-EC1CC1968AEF.jpeg 5EA03705-CE2F-4700-8D52-EC1CC1968AEF.jpeg F7D0461B-E72D-43C1-B607-EDD31CB02906.jpeg

Naturally we all want bargains and Imperials for less than $30.00 but, IMHO, I think that was a very fair price for the type/grade....especially 'all in'/shipped!:)

BTW: I'm intrigued by the right-facing reverse which may be a scarcer variety and I'm not sure if that is Liberalitas or Fortuna:confused:. Hopefully, the more astute will respond shortly.

I don't know anything about LCS but just yesterday i was looking at pretty much the same denarius in probably a bit less nice condition at a local shop and the price was $85. For $50 I would have bought it for my own collection.

The most important thing is that you like the coin. You paid the right price.

It's all about learning, and, I guarantee you will screw up once in awhile, all of us do and I've been collecting ancients for a very long time. If you really like the coin then even if you paid a bit much, it won't hurt as bad.

Never buy a coin you don't like just because it's rare. Rarity doesn't always means it has a premium. Have fun, and keep looking at stuff you like.

That’s why I bought it blindly....I loved the way it looked. I had a choice of some average UScoins or a couple silver eagles for about the same price....It WAS NOT A CHOICE!
I also got a GORDIAN III EF AND A VF+ JULIA DOMNA. THEY ARE JUST AS BEAUTIFUL. not as much toning though. I paid $45 each for those 2. I will post pics tonight. I just ask opinions to make sure they are not $5 coins and I got my money’s worth or close to it. Thank y’all for your input as always it is appreciated and very valued to me.
Come back later and help me with these 2 last coins if you will.
    Have a Blessed day...

Here are the Gordian III in EF and the VF+ JULIA DOMNA. BEING new to ancients I cannot get over the super high relief of ancient coins.
I paid $45 each for these and assume I didn’t get taken....but wanted them anyway because they are beautiful coins.
Thank you for your input in advance....SOPEMAKER... 4AD5FC40-1B06-4EF9-A304-611771A30936.jpeg
