I actually took a new picture of this...but I ended up using the old one from 8 years ago because it's still in storage and I doubt it's changed much over the years. That and....well I forgot I posted it here heh. In that post I thought it might be between a F-12 and VF-20, but considering I have a great website to compare it with now, I now think it's between F-15 and XF-40. so can anyone help me bullseye this?

It's a little hard to tell with the angle - better to shoot straight on if you can.
Based on the pictures, I would say VF20 as I think it has enough detail in the wings and the cotton boils. I'm wondering if the coin was cleaned - hard to see luster from the pictures and the dark areas around the stars make me wonder.
We will see what others think too.

The Morgan grades F15 at best but I'm leaning more towards F12.

Here are some brand new images of the coin in question...taken by the same camera too. They don't make cameras like they used to for sure...

Well, I'll change my mind. Those pics clearly show that the coin has been damaged (the dents on both obv and rev) and thus it has no grade at all. It should be labeled VF Details.

wonder what could have caused that? Maybe just dents from when it was actively in circulation?

Certainly possible but it doesn't really matter what caused them. The only thing that does matter is that they are there.
