i have here a 1912S barber half, and a 1907O barber quarter. i was wondering if these are worth more than melt? the half looks pretty nice on the front, but the back is a little worn. same thing with the quarter.

I put them at about AG-3, except the 12 S is very nice, especially the obverse, so it might go a G-4. Nice coins though man! :thumb: I would say you would probably get about $8-$10 for them if you sold them. Probably get melt though if you sold to a dealer. Nice coins coinlover. :thumb:

thanks phoenix, i bought these coins in a set of 1905 indian head cent, a 1905 v nickel and a 1912D barber dime. the cent is very good, the nickel in good, and i'd say the dime in good condition. i bought the set for $20, but that was the guy i bought the 1893 VF-20 quarter for $2.

$20 for all those coins -- you did just fine. Love those barber halves!

I think you did pretty well for both for $20 ... I'd say each should be worth almost that alone ($18 & $17 respectively). Nice!

They are both AG's, actually G/AG.
Frequently called commercial good (sold in the mail as goods.)
Any Barber half dollar is great to own, and I put my money where my mouth is.
