Here is a raw 1834 Capped Bust Half. What would you grade using any guide you feel comfortable with?

    Thanks for looking

    Ben:
    At least a nice AU!
How bad is that rim ding?

Very minor but it is there. :(

Still, like some Busties, it 'speaks to me'.
    And I like it!

What is the Overton? and Rarity?

Just looked in my collection binder where the coin is, and the flip is marked AU-55/58 and it's a common (R-1) O-107.

    ?

I know that I don't know much, but I looked in my red book and the 8 in the date does not look right for either the small date or large date. It is a really pretty coin otherwise, ding and all.

    Great details and strike!

AU details, cleaned, net XF is my grade.

my conservative grade would be XF. hard to really see what wear there is on the obverse with that glare.

That is the luster that is blinding you.

    Grade

I have one that looks very close to this one, its graded xf/au.

I would have said MS 60. The reverse details are really great. The eye and nose hole are there, which is hard (in my experience) to find, and the feathers are all there with no visable wear. Whatever grade it is, I wish it was mine! Nice find.
