I see wheat stalk tips that are level with each other and an extension on the left stalk that makes it higher overall than the right stalk. And what do you see?

Hey Chris my mistake I miss read post #19 here. I thought you believed that that the feature was scraped away as stated in #18 but I see in #19 you restate your opinion? Sorry dude I’m un clear pardon my oldness.

    No problem!

However, I did state that the anomaly on the left stalk was probably scraped away by some unknown means (PMD). It definitely could not have been caused by a break on the surface of the die.

Looks like old damage smoothed out with wear. Maybe a small lamination?

Would some one PLEASE throw an over lay on this!! That area that was “smoothed out by wear” NEVER had any devise to wear I believe. An over lay would show what is supposed to be where. 97FDA5A3-2AE9-4942-929E-95C2EAE13731.jpeg

Yup you're right, on the newer photos it shows up better, small die chip at the end of the wheat ear. Thanks.

That’s been my theory from the start. I just saw the unsymmetrical balance of the wheat stalks immediately and was drawn to what should not be there. The left tip was an obvious add on SOME HOW. Just my back water been looking at Lincolns for 45 years opinion. It has less value than the coin in question. Hope this helps.

That’s what I see but there are others here that see another way. I could be way off base but I think I’m close. BUT without having the coin in hand I won’t make a call. Good eye on spotting it. It’s worth $.05 but more importantly a solid find. Look how much activity your coin generated. IMO you will never get the same satisfaction buying a coin as finding a good specimen in the wild

And as I stated before THAT is what I saw on my first look. At the beginning of this thread you posted so fast you must have seen the same?
