OK, I will add my roach to the party, but it has a strict curfew of 11pm PST.

In the spirit of political correctness I have decided immediately to repatriate my favorite coin of Gordian III to his proper owner. I was hoping to pass my coins on to my grandson but he shows no interest in coins. Therefore I am proud to introduce my newly adopted heir and the future owner of all my Gordian coins (and the whole world if you believe some people):

Lucky me, you've adopted my favorite client, and he has decided to open a trust with me as trustee to oversee all his Gordian III inheritance. Kindly mail all your Gordian III to me forthwith for "inspection" and you know "trustee stuff"...:D:vamp:

This thread is becoming quite the roach fest. Speaking of roaches, this is an actual movie...the 1980's version of Sharknado. And yes, it is available on Blue-ray! :cigar:

The plot is not the greatest, the music was terrible, and the special effects are what you'd expect of a 1980's low budget B movie, but it is surprisingly funny in a bad way. Just like Sharknado, so absurd it becomes epic. So if you like roaches, this is definitely a must watch. Just make sure not to eat anything while watching the movie. Better yet, watch on an empty stomach.

Coin #17 to be posted in 2 hours.

PS: There goes my January coin budget. Just purchased a 1946 Philico Transitone Model 250 AM radio just like this one. Got to love those post-WWII mid-century design aesthetics.

Now I got to study how much its going to cost me to set up a personal AM radio station so I can broadcast in AM radio from my computer to my new radio. That way I can listen to old 1940s and 1950s shows like Jack Benny, Dragnet, Abbot and Costello, etc. on my new period radio...the way they were meant to be heard. No sense having a vintage AM radio just to listen to Rush Limbaugh or the Creolle and Spanish gossip and religious stations here in Miami. Got to listen to period stuff. Unfortunately setting up your own AM radio operation to transmit programs will cost money (which probably will see my February coin money go up in flames.) Oh well, it will all be worth it.

#17 A lady and an octopus

Don't panic...this is not the Japanese version of the story. In the Italian version the octopus is much more fun and family friendly.

Nice one! The octopus makes a nice figure on a round flan. I always liked the famous Minoan octopus vase but it is a bit out of my price range. Your coin is a good space filler until we can get the vase.

Enjoying all the Gordies in this thread. I only have one to share, and it's not nearly as nice as the ones already shown:

Great Octopus! I always liked the "sprue" marks on the irregular flans. I have a couple to toss on the Octopi-pile:
