    Muzyck Rabbits!

These arrived yesterday in a batch from an eBay seller. Unfortunately about half of them appear to me to have been cleaned.

This one just arrived within the last few hours. Seems like there is little love for Sinkiang Miscals here but I like this one. Fairly common coin but this one is a very nice even strike.

    5 Miscals, circa 1903. Kashgar.

    My first foreign modern commemorative

I normally don't do much with modern world coins outside of Canada, but when this one was announced, I knew it was on my "get-list". The 2017, 2000-forint Hungary commemorative of the 500th anniversary of the reformation, in Uncirculated (they also issued a 5000-forint in proof).

Here are pics from the internet as I'm still struggling to take good pics with my iphone. hungary.jpg

I was in Vietnam for a couple weeks in early 1974 and I don't remember seeing this kind of coin in circulation. I suspect it was minted in the US. I got 5 of these little beauties a week or two ago. 1974 RVN 10 d obv.JPG 1974 RVN 10 d rev.JPG

This is the one I posted in its own thread the other day with the Label Error. It's a Double Florin, not Crown.

Well designed, like it. This way they also avoided the issue of who to honor. ;) Germany for example picked Martin Luther for the €20 silver coin issued at face (image below from YouTube video rScQ2tdQ54I) but also issued two gold coins: €50 with the Luther Rose, and €100 (in the Unesco World Heritage series) featuring the Luther Memorial Sites in Eisleben and Wittenberg.

    20e17reform.jpg

Switzerland issued a 20 fr coin that is also dedicated to the 1517 Reformation. That one shows Calvin (left) and Zwingli though.

"PS" - The Luther silver coin I have, and I find the design interesting but not really appealing. The combination of his head and the bible text is a good idea, but I'm not a fan of such flat "drawn" portraits. Besides, the Latin numbers (i, ii, iii ...) almost look like parts of his face. Nah, he did not have a mustache. ;)

Not the type of item I usually collect, but the "location" was so odd that I decided to take it.
