    Any advice? I have taken different pictures of the same cent for different focus points. I noticed there are several ddos for the 1968s..the bert is enlarged in liberty the e in we and eye, and date. And in God etc. They appear doubled depending on light and clarity. If I am irritating anyone..i will go back to studies :) too little information is dangerous and I do not want to be annoying..Have a great day! 20171205_132525.jpg 20171205_132114.jpg 20171205_132018.jpg 20171205_131933.jpg 20171205_131849.jpg

    Never annoying until you start insisting that this is a valuable error worth big bucks. In the absence of that, I don't see much doubling, perhaps some of what is called MD or machine doubling that comes about when a die moves in the press. Wait for others...

    I'm not looking for valuable (information yes) I believe life is too short not to know what is what in this crazy world. Thank you for your reply!

    Have you tried making a match with any known varieties? If not check www.doubleddie.com directly through this link. As Kentucky says, could be machine doubling but never hurts to double check. Markers are also given to help identify a specific variety so also pay close attention to any listed markers.

    The only thing I can say about what I see is that It is Slightly Misaligned Die Strike on the Obverse and also the Reverse... See the slight double (not doubled) rim?

    Forgive my ignorance..but I do not know what sms stands for? It did match the ddo1 on a site except I couldn't get close enough on back of cent for a notch? Again, I do not remember the terminology. I apologize.
    Thank you , Windi

    @Windi
    SMS stands for Special Mint Set coin
    But the best way to determine that is if it was found as part of an actual SMS

    It does have the markers on the front, I just can't see the one on the back under the memorial above the O in one cent. I'll get some magnification somehow. Thank you for your reply!

    Oh! Thank you! It came in a roll of alleged uncirculated 1968s pennies. I say alleged, because I have found recently that what people say and what really is..can be deceiving?

    I don't think they made a SMS for 1968 ;)
