    It depends whether or not it was stored having never reached circulation. I have some rolls of 73-D that are just as nice as your coin because they have never circulated.

    Well... It could of been stored away in a roll of coins for a very long time and finally opened recently and put into circulation.

    I can fairly regularly find uncirculated cents from the 1980s in change or coin rolls. occasionally 1970s, rarely before that now. Ten years ago it was pushed back a decade...I was regularly finding from the 1970s on, with occasional 1960s, and rarely in the decade before. I figure with the amount of cents minted, a certain number saved for x number of years and then released because either the saver died and his/her heirs spent them or turned them into the bank, or the saver still lived but figured the coins would not be worth saving anymore and spent them or turned them into the bank...
