Does anyone have a good source for identifying Reichsmark errors? Thanks

I've had a few. They were more common in the Weimar Republic era.

I suppose you'd identify them the same way you would any coin error: by type. (Off-center, broadstruck, clipped planchet, off-metal strike, lamination, etc, etc.)

I collect German coins of all eras but I am not big into error coins. This thread makes me think that I should consider looking through them. Problems is I have well over 2000, maybe 3000 German coins. Any idea where the best place to start it? But I do have a fair number of duplicates to there is an excellent source for comparison.

As far as sites that have error type..I've been searching but so far no luck..or a decent site I should say

I've seen lots of minor Die cracks and RPMs on 1873-1916 Minors. Also an occasional Repunched numeral in the date. Fewer on Berlin Mint pieces. There are some overdates listed in Krause, particularly the silver 1/2M series from the Munich Mint.

Yes, I am aware of those overdates and have been keeping my eyes open for them. So far I have only found one. My set of uncirculated half marks is missing only one coin, except for all those overdates.

Because it's the only one I need :p (plus the Overdates). But mine aren't Unc. (Oops, sorry to hijack the thread)

I thought it may be something to do with the mintage of 1000.
