Well thought this was the most appropriate place to start with a guess what I found. Gonna keep you in suspense for a bit, sorry. 7 months ago after a 12 year period of home care of my wife of almost 50 years, I became a widower. That's how I came back into the world of searching coins. Lots of time with only the tube, so rekindled the pocket change and roll hunting after almost 60 years of abandoning the hobby. The past 6 months after her passing was rather numb, grieving now pretty much over and once again the tube taking over decided to start my collecting/searching again. So this box of pennies has been sitting on the shelf for maybe 8 months; half way through it was surprised to find a 1992 d CAM I THINK, and in pretty good shape. Compared it to half a dozen other photos and it sure does meet the visual id's that I saw. So anyways am sending it off to PCGS for grading and confirmation. That spacing between the A and M looks a lot closer threw my 10x than in the photo, but the initials are a lot closer than in the 1992 d normal.... did a PCGS photograde check; first time for that as well and looks to be about a 63 and in red. Long and short I am back into searching and asking newbie questions.
Welcome back Sorry to hear about your wife passing away. I don't think that is a CAM.. IMHO Also the date has doubling but it's due to Die Deterioration Doubling.
Well tu all , just did a little more investigating and I believe you are correct, or put another was I are wrong ..... those initials truly messed me up, so had visions of grandeur for a bit, and it was uplifting for sure; but yep wide is close ans close is wide. o well I am still back.
And the best part is, there are still billions of coins out there waiting for you to search them! Let me join in offering my condolences on your loss, and welcoming you to CoinTalk (and welcoming you back to the hobby...)
Sorry for your loss. I would like to know what you are using to take those photos! They are nice and clear and came out really nice.
My condolences and prayers for you Pop70. Welcome back to the hobby. Lots of nice and knowledgeable folks on this Forum that will help answer your questions and offer opinions on pictures of coins you find. I agree your coin is a WAM. I've just started looking for WAMS and NAMS myself and have yet to find one. Happy Hunting...
My sympathy in your loss. I am only a year and a half from your 70 years, with over 46 years of marriage. If I were to lose my dear wife it would shake my world as I know it. Bless you for your efforts in caring for her for so many years. Will look forward to seeing you post your finds. Good luck! Steve
My condolences for your loss. Grieving takes time. I can't imagine going thru what you did. Welcome back and I hope you find yourself in a much better place emotionally each and every day.
