I picked up this nice piece from German Auction last year. It had a starting bid of 800 euros/ so I put a proxy bid on it for 800. I ended up winning it the coin is: AV 4 Tari ND Messina Mint/Sicily/ Stempelglanz=mint state Emperor Konrad I 1250-58 of Hohenstaufen I looked up the coin in newest Friedberg book and noted that the price in VF =10k EF=VERY RARE/ so I ended up with a good win.
the auction house graded it as mint state/stempelglanz/UNC. I seen a Frederick II Hohenstaufen AV 1 Tari slabbed as MS-64=CH> UNC/ that looked EF. It was from the Baron Von Bruck collection.
Oh, love it! Looks rather thick for medieval gold, but then I've seen other (1-) tari pieces with a rather chunky look, almost more like an ancient than a medieval. I don't know much about them, but I do have a medieval Sicilian tari watchlisted. Nothing like this, of course. Congratulations!
