    Thanks Ben just working on another Celtic at the moment it is only some 6mm across at max lol but thanks to the wonders of modern technology I can now make out the images :D

    May I note that your 1711 shilling has spectres on it, which were only placed on the guinea. I suspect these were fraudulantly engraved and the coin was guilded and passed off as a guinea.... !!!

    You are spot on & I had not even noticed it, quite possibly trying to pass it off as a Half guinea due to the size. Not only had I not noticed but the dealer I bought it from had not either LOL

    They were basicly a stop gap measure & as you might know there were also a abundance of Privately issued tokens available as well, the new currency started in 1816 :thumb:

    I do have some hammerd as well but I need to work out who they are attributed too LOL Have just added coins from the following areas :D
