I bought this coin today locally, but when measuring the weight and searching for the right attribution, I started wondering if its legit. Measures are: - 18x20 mm - 1.67 grams I would appreciate your honest oppinion on this matter. Thanks! P.s. I tried to somewhat improve the quality of my photos and I would appreciate your suggestions on how to improve in that area.
I'm no expert at all. It's just a feeling your coin is OK. The loss of weight is due to wear. Hope I'm not mistaken.
Looks like a golden aureus, adjusted the colour , but its also over-exposed. try daylight next time. Looks Original to me, although underweight.
That's RIC 166, BMCRE 197, Cohen 586, Hill 432, RCV 6354. It may be a so-called "limes denarius," or simply underweight. Severan denarii occasionally run < 2.0 grams.
Thanks for suggestions and the help. I use a camera with a super zoom function, because it was the only way I could get clear close up.
