Here are a couple of Marcus Aurelius issues. The silver Denari was purchased from www.ancientcoins.ca and the bronze AE-2 I cleaned myself. The matrix/encrustation on it was so thick it looked like a concord grape, LOL :D...

    Any thoughts or additional input?

Are you sure the first is silver? I think it is, but there's a *chance* it may be a fouree core. Otherwise, nice coins! How much did you shell out for 'em?

The bronze was in a lot of 10 uncleaned from an ebay seller with a handle like aaccoins and the silver one was (can't remember exactly) in the $$30 range.

    Thanks for looking

Thanks Steve, I've had these for a couple of years and am pretty sure the price of a Denari has gone up significantly since paying $30ish for this one...

Ben, i think your first coin (the one heavily patinated or encrusted) is actually of Antoninus Pius.
Aurelius and Pius denarii are actually quite common. But in condition like yours yes, they are quite collectable.
